2017 in a nutshell - Dorset Wedding Photographer

2017 in a nutshell – Dorset wedding photographer

SO first of all how quick did 2017 go! Last I knew it was the start of wedding season in May and then it 2018, how did that happen!! Below are a few pictures, well a lot from what I’ve shot this year, not every wedding is included but a random selection with more to be added.

It’s been a crazy year for me, with travelling all over the country to shoot. I am still amazed every time I shoot that I get to do this as my job, not many people can say they love what they so I’m truly thankful to everyone who books me.

A few trips to make a special mention are Megan & Corrie, you may have seen the blog post previously, but what an honour that another photographer from another country would have you capture their love, and to throw it in the mix was a surprise engagement in my fave place Glen Etive in Scotland.

Next was my trip to Rhodes, Greece. Emily & Ross had a beautiful day in the heat, 38 degrees!! They trusted me to capture the most intimate and amazing family get together with trips to the old town and one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen topped off with a firework display. The blog is coming soon do not worry!!

The weddings I’m most grateful for are the local’s ones, getting to visit some amazing venues in my home county of Dorset is amazing, Sopley Mill, The Old Vicarage, Parley Manor, Plush Manor, Burley Manor, The Italian Villa and Stockbridge farm are to name a few. They all make me feel so welcome.

But the biggest thanks always goes to the couples, the trust that goes into the day is unbelievable and I can truly say that some of my couples have become amazing friends. Long may it continue till I’m old and grey! Well I’m feeling old and starting to go grey!!

Here’s to 2018 and a bigger beard!!

London Engagement Photographer

Jazz & Oj – London Engagement

Jazz grew up in London (well kinda grew up!!) so this was the reason for visiting for their engagement shoot ahead of their Italian Villa Wedding in Dorset.

After the first meeting of these two I was super excited about any photos I got to shoot of them, the laughs they share together is awesome and its non stop! Along for the ride in London was my awesome friend and photographer Frances Beatty from Canada, check out her work here. She was having some down time and a mini road trip so decided to come and hang out and see what the English are all about.

The first photos of any couple are always the most awkward, you don’t know what to expect and neither do they, but these two just acted like complete models the whole day, cuddling laughing and joking without any prompts from me, the most ideal couple ever!! Hopefully you see that in the photos below and keep an eye out for the wedding which will appear here soon.

You can also check this shoot out on Nu Bride, Nova was taken by Jazz & Ojay’s chemistry that they featured it with a mini interview. Check it out here.

Engagement Photographer Scotland

Megan & Corrie – Surprise Engagement in Glen Coe

Its always a massive honour to be asked by another photographer to take photos of them, Megan is an awesome photographer from Toronto, check out her work here. I totally jumped at the chance to hang out in one of the best places in Scotland with the best views.

Megan & Corrie had travelled to Manchester for a special friends wedding and seeing as they had come all this way they decided to embark upon an epic road trip taking them to Scotland and Ireland.

Glen Coe is a special place, my girlfriend Emma grew up not to far from there and used to spend quite a lot of time hiking and exploring with her friends and family. On my first visit she took me to Glen Etive and I fell in love with the views straight away. So to take Megan and Corrie to the same place and watch them be amazed was just as good as seeing it for the first time myself. Life is totally about sharing things that area amazing and with people that are amazing.

So we made our way through Glen Coe with a couple short walks and then to Glen Etive, we set up for a couple shot with the mountains in the background and it was a quiet gorgeous moment, so good in fact that Corrie decided to get down on one knee and propose to the love of his life.

It’s a super special moment seeing that happen and it brought a tear to my eye and a huge smile on my face while trying to take photos. Just so you know this was not planned!! I had no idea, Megan had no idea! Corrie had planned to propose in Ireland but the scenery and the moment were just right and luckily enough he had brought the ring just in case. I’m so grateful to have been involved and be able to share something so amazing.

A huge congrats to you both and thank you for being so awesome.
